FAQ
General
We're a group of indie authors in sci-fi, fantasy, and romance with 50+ published books between us.
Collectively, we've spent more than 25 years learning EVERYTHING we possibly could about it. We've read every book, blog post, and article we could find (including some writing books that are out of print and can only be uncovered in the back corner of a library).
You can read more about us here.
We're located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Physical items are printed on demand by our partner Lulu. They have a network of printers across North America and will use the one nearest to you. Orders outside of North America will be printed and shipped from the US.
The internet is a wonderful resource full of excellent advice—and a cesspit full of crap.
You could spend years sifting through all the contradictory writing advice on the internet to find the gold that makes your story better.
Or you could start writing with the advantage of our experience publishing 50+ books and our 25 years of reading and testing every piece of writing advice we could find.
We do not and will never use generative AI in our products.
Generative AI is trained on copyrighted work without the permission of the creators and without compensating them for the use of their art.
We strive to help people write books because creativity and storytelling are essential to human well-being. We will continue to proudly support human artists and writers in all future products.
We commission some of our artwork from graphic designers who do not use AI. The rest are stock photos we've licensed from artists who do not use AI in their work.

Absolutely! We offer discounted digital copies for classroom use. Email us at info@scribeforge.ink and tell us what guides you're thinking of using and the size of your class.
Orders and returns
Once you buy it, you can use it forever.
The download limit exists because some people were sharing their download links online. If you've purchased an item, you can have as many copies for your personal use as you want. You cannot share them with others.
Email us at info@scribeforge.ink and we'll send you a copy of your downloads.
Digital items are available instantly. Physical ones are printed on demand so they take a bit longer to ship. Expect a week or two for processing.
If you're using a prepaid card, register it with the credit card company to add your address. To prevent fraud, our payment provider checks that the card's info matches your billing address.
If you've done that or you're paying with a regular card and it's not working, email us at info@scribeforge.ink
We do not offer refunds on digital-only products because there is no way to return a digital file.
Physical items must be mailed to us before a refund can be processed. Email us at info@scribeforge.ink for the return address.
Tech
Sometimes the app that provides our downloads glitches and fails. Email us at info@scribeforge.ink and we'll send you a copy of your files within 24 hours.
If you're on a PC:
Email us at info@scribeforge.ink and we'll help you out.
If you're on a Mac:
OneNote on Mac does not allow you to directly import a file created on another computer, but there is a workaround.
1) Locate the backup folder OneNote created on the Mac hard drive (hidden somewhere in the libraries).
You can also find the backup folder by opening OneNote, going to Preferences>Back-up, and selecting Open back up folder. This should open a Finder window with the folder.
2) Copy the Scribe Forge OneNote files into that backup folder on the Mac.
3) Open OneNote, select File>Open Notebook. Select backups, and voila, all the files should be there.
4) The only tedious thing is that you have to open them one by one manually to get them into OneNote. But then you can make a new notebook and collect them together.
If this does not work, email us at info@scribeforge.ink. We'll get back to you within 24 hours.
Your files arrive zipped. Make sure you've unzipped them before trying to open them (phones and tablets sometimes make this tricky).
If you still can't open your files, email us at info@scribeforge.ink and we'll get you sorted.
