Readers will get lost in your world as they uncover all its secrets.

📖 You'll create fictional species so detailed they could be on the cover of NatGeo.

📖 Your magic system will inspire readers to act it out because they yearn for it to be real (like if you ever tried to move a cup with the Force).

📖 Your fictional cultures will be complex and believable with one simple trick no one else tells you about.

📖 Your natural environments will be so lush they'd make David Attenborough drool (does someone that fancy drool?).

📖 And more, with templates and worksheets for every element, including building magic systems.

Find creative joy and creative confidence.

You sit down to write and your fingers fly across the keys. The real world falls away, and it’s just you and this magical, wondrous realm you created.

Best of all, you KNOW your world is as good as you can make it because you've used the worldbuilding worksheets to:

📖 Tie together all the elements of a world, from its environment to its culture to create a cohesive setting.

📖 Uncover new sources of conflict for your stories and characters, so your book is more binge-worthy than you ever thought it could be.

📖 Add realistic details to your world without endless research.

We spent over ten years developing The Essential Worldbuilding Workbook.

Eva Delaney (USA Today bestselling author) became so obsessed with worldbuilding that she spent years researching and building hundreds of planets. She even chose her university major around worldbuilding (anthropology, if you're curious).

One day, she realized she was worldbuilding but never actually writing. She had more notes on methods than she knew what to do with. More worlds than she'd ever get to write about. More worldbuilding rabbit holes on the internet every day.

So, she decided something had to change.

She set out to combine and streamline all she had learned into a simple system, focused on building the most important elements of a world.

This framework and set of worksheets were refined over her years of writing and publishing, with the help of Candice Lee MacAulay (a six-figure author) and Andrew Cesario (an editor for fantasy and sci-fi novels).

What you get with The Essential Worldbuilding Blueprint and Workbook

Across 18 sections, you'll build an immersive world that readers will get lost in. The Essential Workbook covers:

🌍 Worldbuilding methods: Choose the right approach for every story, whether you're starting with no idea or so many that your stack of notes once toppled and pinned you to the floor.

Stars and Planets: Infuse your world with wonder from its very foundation to the sky above. (Hint: even fantasy writers can play with their world's sun, planet, and stars. We'll show you how.)

🧭 Locations: Geography and Climate: Make every location your characters visit—from an ancient forest to a seedy space port—so realistic it could be pulled from Google Street View.

👽 Fictional Beings: Animals, Aliens, & Paranormals: Populate your world with living, breathing non-humans who feel like real species.

🌲 Ecosystem: Learn a simple way to create a natural environment so rich that Morgan Freeman will want to narrate a documentary about it.

🔮 Magic: Go beyond just crafting a wondrous magic system (though, you'll do that, too!). Learn how to infuse magic into every part of your setting, so it becomes an innate part of your world.

👻 Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance: If your magic and paranormal elements exist in the modern world, this is your chapter. You'll learn how to meld the two into a greater whole, like peanut butter and chocolate.

🧪 Science: Explore the role science plays—or doesn't play—in your world (and, if you want, make up new sciences for a bit of extra weirdness).

🚀 Technology: Craft a detailed system of technology with one straightforward technique that works whether you're writing a Stone Age-inspired setting or a futuristic civilization inhabited by feline robots.

👩‍⚖️ Social Structures (family, government, economy, law): Create a complex society with layers, secrets, and sources of conflicts.

💖 Values and Ethics: Use a surprisingly simple method almost no one talks about to create the basis for a believable culture.

🕌 Religion, Mythology, and Philosophy: Develop a complete belief system, whether spiritual or secular, and weave it into every other part of your world.

📖 History: Learn the four questions that help you develop your world's history like a PhD (without the massive student loan debt).

After you build the essentials of your world, flesh it out with worksheets on:

🏠 Art, Fashion, and Architecture: Create your world's visual identity based on its society, culture, species, religion, and history.

🎲 Games, Sports, and Holidays: Delve into the ways people in your world practice and celebrate their culture, values, and religion through games and holidays.
